Upcoming Events

Pastor:     Carolyn M. Watkins Pastor Carolyn has been in the ministry for over 20 years, and has been at Linwood since 2008.  She was raised in Indianapolis, where she developed a passion for social justice and the Gospel. After graduating from Oberlin College in Ohio, Pastor Carolyn spent three years as a missionary associate in Tokyo, Japan.  She received a Master’s degree in Religious Studies from the Divinity School of the University of Chicago, and her M.Div. from Christian Theological Seminary.  She has served pastorates in Olney, Springfield, and Lomax, Illinois, and as a chaplain resident at St. Vincent Hospital.  Pastor Carolyn has one daughter, and two cats.

Pastor:      Lynne Kreiger

In September 2015 Linwood Christian Church partnered with Christian Theological Seminary’s Supervised Concurrent Field Education (SCOFE) program to bring Student Associate Pastor Lynne into the church’s ministry. Born and raised in Indianapolis, she has been a member of the Christian Church, Disciple of Christ since 1978, serving in many lay capacities until she felt the call to ministry and entered seminary in January 2012. She embraces the Disciples Identity Statement that we are “a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.” Sharing a passion for social justice and the Gospel with Pastor Carolyn, she hopes someday to serve churches engaged in urban ministry. Her future plans include completing Clinical Pastoral Education at a local hospital in summer 2016 and is projected to receive a Masters of Divinity in May 2017. She loves working with plants (she has a Bachelor of Science from Purdue in Horticulture) and reading. She has a grown son Jordan who is an engineer and lives in Florida
